THE BOTTOM LINE

"When the "right man” makes use of the “wrong method”,
He finds a way to make it work, and work well;
When the “wrong man” makes use of the “right method”,
Nothing good comes of it at all.
Thus it is my experience that all professional skills are
“Right methods”, no matter how disparate –
Whether surgery, astrology, or homeopathy –
But one has to search out the “right” practitioners.”

– C.G. Jung, Ph.D.

Self-Regulatory & Body-Centered Experiencing is the trusting of our body’s self-regulating intelligence and its innate ability to heal. Body-centered experiencing is the grounded experience of our bodily sensations in relation to thoughts, images, metaphors, memories and other information we connect to, as we scan what type of charge might still be present in our system … so that it may then be discharged and let go from the body! This work is not about the intellectual or rational story; rather, it is body-centered, as we listen to what the body has to say and wants to do, as opposed to transcend or bypassing it.

Nurturing Touch: In a mostly touch-less society, where we seem to be always "on" and/or too busy to allow ourselves the experience and enjoyment of stillness; safe, tender, nurturing and non-sexual touch is more important than ever! How did it feel the last time you had your hair washed - wishing it lasted a little bit longer? Sometimes, the simplest touch can make the biggest difference. And what if - any of the below mentioned modalities brought you into an alpha state of deep relaxation: a state where the body can repair and reorganize? What if ... you tried something new?

Aromatherapy: The use of essential oils is a great way to help stimulates that part of the brain (amygdala), which plays a major role in the storing and releasing of emotional blocks, shock and trauma. One of the ways to stimulate this gland is through the sense of smell; therefore, with aromatherapy and essential oils, we are able to release physical, mental, emotional, energetic, symbolic and spiritual traumas in a safe and gentle way. The oils can also be used to raise your frequency (life force) thereby changing your energy, mood, thought and emotional patterns. Not everyone likes the smell of the oils so they are only used with your permission (but they are highly recommended).

"Meta-Aromatherapy (similar to the combination of SE/STR & Aromatherapy) as the name implies goes beyond the very beneficial use of the essential oils alone. It uses a number of therapies in combination which are particularly effective for chronic conditions and uses the psychological aspects of essential oils. Various bodywork techniques such as aromatherapy massage and gentle touch techniques aid in releasing long-held associated tensions through the kinesthetic response." - by Christine Westwood

Spiritual Touch is therapeutic touch done with intention and tuned awareness. As a Spiritual Touch Practitioner, I see myself as a Spiritual Healer, divinely inspired and divinely guided. Aligned with your highest good, touching your body-mind-spirit and listening to what it has to say, I use my intuition as a guide, which will help me choose which modality to tap into - this is done to honor your process and serve your highest good. And sometimes, not physically touching the body and just being there, holding space for your process, can be as powerful as any aforementioned techniques; especially if that’s what is needed in the moment!

Assisted Meditation: Internal reflection … Assisted Meditation is spiritual touch done in total silence so that you may go – fully – into your introspection, as you explore the inner and outer multi-dimensional fields of your body, mind, spirit and beyond. As you allow yourself to connect to and receive wisdom from your inner-healer, you will be reconnecting to your higher self.

In silence, you will receive conscious and subconscious messages for your healing.

In silence, you will be integrating that wisdom.

Intuitive Cranial Sacral (Cranial Sacral Unwinding) (CSU): A more 'energy-tic' approach to bodywork, Cranial Sacral Unwinding promotes the revitalization & resiliency of the body, mind and spirit as the person’s core energy responds to the work being done. As the core energy reorganizes around the highest intelligence in the body-mind-spirit (which is said to be held in our Cerebral Spinal Fluid), a healthy flow will be created thus allowing for the expansion and contraction (healthy movement cycles) in the body and in one’s life. This work, when done with respect and finesse, approached as sacred, can be life transforming because as we clear stagnant energetic and symbolic blockage(s) from your system; we create spaciousness in your body-temple to be filled with new, positive and profound healing experiences.

Sensory Repatterning: Similar to Japanese Trepidations & Trager Technique , it is the shaking and rocking of the body that allows old holding patterns to relax, release and let go … ‘shaking the ego out of the body’. Imagine a small Zen garden: just like the lines in the sand form patterns, the body creates its own holding patterns, patterns that can slow us down, creating tensions and stiffness amongst other issues.

Sensory Repatterning is the integration of mind and soul into the body. Making room in your system for grounding and connectiveness, helping you reconnect with every single cell. The work can be felt as hypnotizing … as if wiping the board clean, shaking and raking the sand of your Zen garden, making room for all future possibilities of body, mind, spirit, energetic, spiritual and symbolic health/wealth.

Somatic Experiencing (SE) / Somatic Trauma Resolution (STR): The goal of SE/STR is to re-regulate the nervous system! Trauma happens when our system gets overloaded. When we experience shock, trauma, cumulative stress or any overwhelming event, the ‘charge’ happens in the body and remains in our nervous system until we are able to ‘discharge’ the trauma-bound energy on a physical (somatic) level. By communicating with our nervous system through our instinctive (reptilian) brain (the language of it being sensations), we are allowing the body to let go of traumas in a safe and gentle way … layer by layer, as trauma cannot be resolved just by talking alone! As we track the discharge happening in your system, trusting your body’s own self-regulating intelligence, memories might come up, answers, metaphors, new and/or suppressed sensations, etc… SE can also help you re-connect with your inner child, restore ruptured boundaries, resolve sexual and other types of abuse-related traumas, as well as auto (and other) accidents, PTSD** insomnia, grief, anger, addiction, fear, and many more issues. Remember, it’s not about the intensity of the event experienced, but rather how intensely the event affected your nervous system, and whether or not you were ever able to discharge that excess energy it since … ! The body remembers, even if we don’t.

**PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)
should be relabeled as
PTSR (Post Traumatic Stress Response)
because your symptoms are a NORMAL response
to what happened to you and they are NOT ‘disorders’!”

– Peter Levine, Ph.D.

This work is NOT about words, story or meaning of the story; rather, it is focused on the sensations felt/experienced in the body! By telling our story over and over again, it rarely resolves anything, especially on a physical level; on the contrary, it can actually keep us stuck, as if trapped in a ‘trauma vortex’ (repeating scenarios over and over again). Once you’ve told your story a millionth time, you’ve analyzed it, deconstructed it, you understand why, but then what ??? Has anything been resolved in your body? Have your symptoms dissipated or gone? If not, try a somatic approach, its purpose being to resource your system which in turn will facilitate faster, deeper, more efficient and life changing (long term) healing: on all levels.

Somatic Experiencing is a logical companion to traditional psychotherapy.

This work can be done over the phone!

The 4 agreements by Miguel Ruiz

Be Impeccable With Your Word:
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean.
Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others.
Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

Don't Take Anything Personally:
Nothing others do is because of you.
What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream.
When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others,
you won't be the victim of needless suffering.

Don't Make Assumptions:
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want.
Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama.
With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

Always Do Your Best:
Your best is going to change from moment to moment;
it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick.
Under any circumstance, simply do your best,
and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.
